As I stated in the last entry, we set the stage for next week’s World Finals before we left Utah in August. We start working that plan this weekend. Our Utah friends Dave, Mark and Louie have had the truck and trailer in safe keeping and we will pick it up and head to Wendover. Monday is prep and inspection day. Tuesday and Wednesday we fervently hope will provide the opportunity to make runs. Our South Carolina group below will be in attendance. Among them is David Williamson who will be going with us for the first time. Louis McCrae will join us from Denver as well. Unfortunately Adam, Marshall and David Skipper will not be able to be with us. We will miss having them as well as Amanda and Shannon and the school kids that will stay home.

The SCTA-BNI organization has communicated recently that the salt is dry and hard. We hope it stays that way. Last year they only got to make runs one day out of four. And years ago Mike and Marshall were in Wyoming on the way to the October event when I got the call at home that it had been cancelled. That was not fun news to pass along. Yes, this is unsettling. Especially since there are showers in the extended forecast for at least a couple of days. Mike and I have to get the truck and trailer back home whether we are able to run or not. I just hope we get to actually DO SOMETHING!!!
Anyway, I will be updating you here on this attempt. Prayers for safe travel for everyone, good weather and Mike’s safety please.
