Well, now that I have converted over all the posts from our previous trip, we can look to the future. We were very disappointed to come away from Utah on the trip home without even getting to make a run. However, the streamliner business is all about the “stars lining up” as I am finding out. It didn’t take long for a plan to be hatched on a return trip in 2019. That’s right, we are already putting in place the pieces of the puzzle to allow for us to make another trip.

What has happened since we came home? Well, we took a little time off and then Mike began taking the car apart to work on the clutch and transmission issues and make improvements. We also squeezed in taking the car to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the fall Good Guys event. We had a great time seeing old friends, making new friends and talking to folks about the car. It is such an oddity on the east coast that we got a lot of “What is it?” types of questions. While we were there we were asked to bring the car back to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Pennzoil Autofair and to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama. Speaking of Motorama, check out this promotional video they did of Mike and the car for that event.

So April is all about those two events. Once we get done with that Mike will test the car. The first test will be just a short run to make sure the clutch and transmission are engaging properly. He plans to make a longer run of perhaps a mile somewhere before we make the trek back to Bonneville.

Another thing we have done is design the informational racing card shown below. We had a number of requests for our information and I was totally unprepared when we were at Good Guys. We actually had the opportunity to talk to Joe Gibbs while there. He wanted Mike’s contact information and I didn’t even have a pen with me! You can bet I will be ready the next time.
