By last night (Tuesday) when I spoke with Mike he and Marshall had decided to drive straight through and be in Utah by this evening (Wednesday). They were trading off the driving responsibilities frequently. Here is the rig on the way.

Sometime after I spoke with Mike, Marshall stopped at a gas station near Columbia, Missouri. As I understood from Mike there was no real urgency to that stop. Marshall just decided to top off the gas and check the truck and trailer. At that point Marshall discovered that there was a flat tire on one side of the trailer. Upon closer inspection they discovered a bad tire on the other side of the trailer as well. Of course that was a show stopper for the evening’s drive. They decided to stay with the truck and trailer and sleep until morning. Eventually Marshall decided to get a room at a hotel across the street and left Mike with the equipment. Mike does not feel at all comfortable with leaving the truck and trailer. The truck has an open bed with lots of tools and equipment on it and the trailer . . . You get the picture. Once in Utah at the Salt Flats, they have security around the clock.
I am sincerely humbled at the guidance the Lord provided to have Marshall stop before they may have had a blowout on the interstate and possibly injure one of them or the car. When Mike phoned this morning with the news of what had happened I had chills just thinking about how our prayers for safety had been answered.
They now have 4 new commercial tires on the trailer and are back on the road. They have approximately 1200 miles left to go at this point.
More to come . . .
